In freezer-like conditions, we
Took on a team of twelve,
The referee was keen to blow
And for our “faults” he’d delve.
Impartial he was sadly not,
And just before the break
The visitors would take the lead
But positives we’d take.
Ben Boyce’s lob bounced off the bar
And Jarvis had returned,
But inconsistent decisions
Were most clearly confirmed.
All 50-50s went the way
Of Norwich CBS,
And cards flew out in nonsense style
Such bias – to excess!
The Shannocks dug deep; almost scored
But finally worn down
The Norwich side bagged their second
And home fans’ hopes did drown.
Right at the end the CBS
Would score again once more,
The goal was taken very well
Their finishing top drawer.
A side very hard to break down
Also decent up front,
Took their chances and deserved all
Three points, if being blunt.
The cosy clique may well not wish
Us in their league to stay,
But Sheringham shall fight on proud –
We’re not going away!
