Minutes, Tim Cary’s world class strike
From twenty plus yards flew
Into the top left corner, but
A minute it would take
Before the hosts would equalise
Causing cold heads to shake!
And shortly after, once again
The Town broke free to score,
Whilst next door in the public rec
A doggy pooped once more!
Both goals were firm strikes in the box
Finding the corner, low;
And whistle-happy referee
When Town roared – loud he’d blow!
Jacko would save a penalty
And straight after the break,
The Shannocks stepped it up and gave
The hosts a bottom-quake!
Sadly a second goal was shy
And late on in the match,
The league leaders added a brace
As hands did wildly scratch.
With key players missing, Shezza
Still put in a good shift;
And next week versus King’s Lynn we
Shall hope that at full-time we’ll be
Returning having won all three
Points; at last a lift!
