v AFC Sudbury Reserves (away) – 21/12/19

A 3G pitch in Suffolk was
The venue for our match,
The King’s Marsh Stadium: decent
And points we hoped to snatch!

Two former Shannocks youth starlets
Would net to win the game –
Young sixteen year old Alex Smith
And Captain Cox took aim!

On twenty, Smith’s debut goal came
But no time they would waste,
And Sudbury equalised most quick –
Our clean sheet soon defaced.

After the break a free kick on
The right saw Cary shoot,
The Suds keeper palmed it away
But Coxy – we salute!

He followed in and with his head
Restored the Shezza lead,
A fab away win for the club!
More confidence shall breed!

Next up it is the derby match
Focus will eager eyes,
The crowd may be in vocal mood
From all those scoffed mince pies!

Let’s hope the game against the Ghosts
Will get Weybourne Road rocking,
And we leapfrog them up the league
Providing a full stocking!
